Find out what is causing the hives to appear. Since hives are triggered by an allergic reaction, the most effective step in treatment is to eliminate your exposure to this item. Some of the more common causes are: medications, foods, cold, insect bites, and plants.
If still no luck then go to your doctor to get a skin test. A doctor can test the area of the outbreak to see what is causing the hives. The doctor may also tell you to take an antihistamine. Most over the counter antihistamines, such as Benadryl, effectively reduce or eliminate the hives. Your doctor may prescribe a stronger version for a more effective treatment.
As far as getting hives going to bed and waking up - You must have an allergy to the material of your sheets/clothing or sheet cleaner. Try using sheets made of different materials and see what causes you to have hives. It can’t be dust mites or bed bugs they bite so you would have lesions rather than hives.
Place a cool washcloth on the effected area. This provides relief for the itching or burning. Cold compresses or baths are about the best to manage through the problem until you and your doctor figure it out. Do not use hot water this makes the itching worse. Good Luck!
